I was having coffee with a client recently, a very successful woman in her early sixties, and she said she sometimes felt like she was, “past her sell-by date”.
While I had never heard that expression used to mean that one’s best days were behind them, the meaning struck a chord in me.
I think we all feel that way sometimes, especially those of us who have been pushing the boulder uphill for a long time, but just because we’re older doesn’t mean it’s time to toss us in the dumpster.
To the contrary, our best days are ahead.
